PRIVATE ACTING COACHING

Private acting coaching teaches and reinforces concepts and principles taught in o u r classes. The benefit of this type of teaching environment is that you have the teacher's undivided attention. Individualized attention means your needs are met and given the highest priority. We will collaborate to find material that best highlights your strengths, as well as finding material that will challenge and inspire you to grow. Those beginning their professional career will also benefit from advice on choosing headshot photographers, proper compilation of a resume, and career guidance. One-on-one coaching will help you with auditions techniques, musical theatre auditions, monologues for school auditions/agency/casting meetings/Broadway/professional tour or cabaret shows, personal scene study, and personal technique study. Private coaching works well as replacement or as a supplement to any class. |

Acting 101 (Ages 10-Adult)
Want to be an actor or actress? Explore the world of acting from stage to screen! Learn the basics of placement, dialogue, dialects, monologues, auditioning, improvisation, acting on camera, and the most popular acting techniques. These are on-going classes with a monthly tuition. We will feature our students who are ready, in our showcases. Private coaching is also available in developing these skills.

Musical Theatre ( Ages 8-15 yrs old) (Ages 16 yrs old-Adult)
This class focuses on the three aspects of musical theatre: singing, acting, and movement. Special attention will be paid to improving vocal production, building characters, and using the body as a form of expression. Selections from various Broadway musicals will be learned to utilize these equally important performance skills. Emphasis will be placed on preparation for musical theatre auditions and performances. Class members will work with a musical director [teaching solos, duos, and group songs, vocal coach [teaching technique for songs taught], and an acting instructor [teaching technique, audition skills, movement, and blocking].
We will feature our students who are ready, in our showcases. Private coaching is also available in developing these skills. |

Acting a Song (Ages 10 years old-Adult)
As a singer, do you struggle with interpreting and communicating your material when performing? A singing performance is all about communication. The performer's understanding of the material being performed, directly affects the quality of the performance. This class will guide you through the process of interpreting lyrics and connecting to the character or audience you're singing to. Committing to the circumstances, making strong movement choices, and using your voice to maximum effect, are skills you will develop and improve. Students will work on material from their own collection of songs. This class is for every singer who acts and every actor who sings. Private coaching is also available in developing these skills. |
Improvisation (Ages 10 years old-Adult)
Fundamental acting techniques such as commitment, spontaneity and concentration are addressed through exercises and performance. Most importantly, the class strives to create an environment of creative risk taking in which each student's full imagination may flourish. No previous theatre experience or preparation required. Private coaching is also available in developing these skills.
Auditioning (Ages 10 yrs old -Adult)
Learn the fundamentals of auditioning techniques for musical theatre, monologues for school auditions/agency/casting meetings/Broadway/professional tour and cabaret shows. Students learn how to find trustworthy management, what headshots are best for them, and how to prepare a resume. This class is designed to guide the student in making a lasting, impressive impact at every audition. Private coaching is also available in developing these skills. |
Acting for the Camera (Ages 16 yrs old-Adult)
This class provides training for TV, film, commercials, and music videos. Classes cover aspects of acting for the camera from auditions to the realities of performing on the set. You'll receive in-depth instruction, honest critique, and constructive suggestions as you enhance your abilities and build your confidence. You'll learn not only the basic craft and techniques of acting, but also the technical demands of on-camera acting. Students gain valuable tools for success whether they're just getting started, currently seeking representation, or already have an agent and are actively auditioning.
