Music Programs

Private Instrument Lessons
Private lessons are offered for piano , guitar , bass guitar , saxophone , clarinet , and flute . We have found that private one-on-one instruction allows students to progress at their own pace and gain the best understanding of musical techniques. Student can start private lessons as young as 5 years old. Students can start private lessons any time of the year or month so there's no need to wait to get started. A variety of styles are taught such as pop, jazz, rock and classical. Please contact the studio office to see which times and days are available. .

Private Vocal Lessons
We have found that private one-on-one instruction is the best case scenario for vocal instruction as well.

AGE:
There are occasions when the student is too young. Due to the physical nature of voice lessons (proper breathing techniques, development of the vocal chords and lung capacity); the younger body is sometimes not yet ready for the rigors of vocal technique. We will audition students as young as 5 years old to evaluate the child's attention span and motor skills. Students at this age require a commitment from the parents to be very involved in the learning process, especially in reference to practicing. Children are sometimes better suited for our pre-school Creative Music and Performance class [3-5 yrs old], Theatre Games class [ages 6-10 yrs old], or our children's choir [5-12 yrs old].

Choir
Students, who are 5 years old and up, may want to become a part of choir program. Aspiring singers who are 5-12 years old can be part of our Children's Choir. Student who are 13 yrs old to adult are welcome to be involved with our older and more advanced choir; "A Touch of Music Singers." For beginners, the choir environment is a great way for students to test their singing potential in a low pressure, relaxed environment. The more accomplished singer will be challenged since choir students enjoy instruction in basic vocal technique, music reading, vocal blending and harmonizing.

Recitals and Concerts
Students are given an opportunity to perform in recitals and concerts held over the course of the year. We usually have at least 2 recitals per year. Our students have made it a tradition to bring food bank donations to recitals making the events both enjoyable and meaningful. Some students are invited to be part of our "Rising Star Revue." This is our signature performance troupe who performs shows for special events through out the year [e.g..Christmas show in the shopping malls].
